These measures include:
-
All ingredients in our gluten-free recipes do not contain gluten.
-
All yeasts are grown on a non-wheat base.
-
Our manufacturing scheduling is designed to ensure that our gluten-free products are handled in a way to avoid cross contamination with other gluten containing products.
-
Verification by an external laboratory for absence of gluten.
All our products labelled as “Gluten-free” have been produced in accordance with these measures.
Please refer to the attached letter from our R&D and QA manager for additional information about Aliments ED Foods’ gluten-free production processes.
Gluten is the protein complex found in wheat, rye, barley and other related grains. It is a mixture of 2 proteins – gliadin and glutelin. Celiac disease is an intolerance to the gliadin component. Gluten-free products do not contain the gliadin and are handled in a way to avoid cross contamination with other gliadin containing products.
